It's difficult for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with an additional six T20 titles, and previously enjoyed 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are the only things left for a side that has accomplished all there is.

That it took until Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, taking back their record for the highest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a testament to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the last half-century.

It is hard for their hitters to maintain a record if not provided the opportunity.

Finally, the outcome of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy being given a chance to deliver her most recent brilliance.

Then best known as the 19-year-old niece of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after Australia couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win arrived three months after her debut and seven world titles have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to rethink our standards," Healy said this week.

At the subsequent ODI World Cup in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Some will argue the argument supporting final game tension. Some might respond with the challenge that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's clear is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this innings came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because I feel like my form was missing at all," said Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature take over and you simply focus on the contest."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, fallen to the emerging pace bowler in every game, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from there the right-hander was underway.

"A chance to take the field and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was dismissed Australia needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Chasing 330 runs is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the assurance to accomplish that now," stated Healy further.

"Hopefully we don't have to repeat it but, if necessary, we know we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

Over the past five days a belief they will win from any position has grown stronger - this victory coming after victory over Pakistan by 107 runs despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may probably be guaranteed.

It was in the semi-finals they were eliminated from last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy was absent due to damaged tissue in her foot as she guided Australia for the first time at a significant event.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wished she had played despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have postponed plans to retire, this championship is anticipated as her final tournament as skipper in ODI cricket and she is yet to win a world championship as leader.

Victory in India would bring her to the top of her last major obstacle.
