I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
Anthony Joshua is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-bout fight which will be shown live on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's arena on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I intend to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my intention."
Respectful Interaction
In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and internet personality Paul - typically famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou turned down a fight offer.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, meanwhile, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, frequently receiving substantial earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28-year-old forecast a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul stated.
Physical Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the customary confrontation, with their size difference clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is really happening.
